Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell has been a chef and television host in America as well as an instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. Anne Burrell. Burrell is host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on Food Network. Food Network, as well as co-hosting Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network host sporting spiky blonde wigs and a pumped-up persona, shows how to cook restaurant-style dishes in your home with simple techniques. Chef Burrell has also worked at many of the best restaurants located in New York, studied the culinary landscape and traditions of Italy and competed in Food Network's Iron Chef America. Early on, while living in the New York's upstate region, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. The Culinary Institute of America sparked her interest in restaurant management after she earned an English/Communications degree at Canisius College Buffalo NY. She says "I loved being a Culinary Institute of America (CIA) student. I enjoyed every moment." Culinary Institute of America was an excellent place to study. Following graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany as well as La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) as she attended the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Her time spent in Italy helped her to understand and appreciate Italian philosophy and culture, and has made an impact on her own food and culinary experience. Burrell is a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which brightens the lives of struggling children. She also is an Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation celebrity advocate in which she promotes awareness of the condition of children with diabetes. She has been a frequent to speak at conferences and tours throughout the United States as part of her mentorship task. Anne says she was incredibly fortunate in that she could share her true passion with other people.
